Terms of Service

MakMarket is a listings board where Makerere University students and staff can advertise items and services to each other. By using MakMarket you agree to these terms.

What MakMarket does

We show listings and help buyers contact sellers. We are not a party to any sale. We don't handle payments, delivery or returns, and we don't inspect or guarantee any item.

Your account

• Give accurate information and keep your password safe.
• To sell, you must confirm a Makerere email address you control.
• One person, one account. Don't share or sell accounts.

Listings

• Only list things you own or services you can provide yourself.
• Describe items honestly, including defects, and use your own photos.
• Mark items as sold once they are gone.
• Don't list anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, dangerous, or against university rules, including exam papers or academic work written for someone else to submit.

Meeting and paying

Deals happen between buyer and seller. Meet in busy public places on campus, check the item before you pay, and never send money before you've seen what you're buying.

Removing content

We may remove listings or suspend accounts that break these terms or that we believe put other users at risk.

Liability

MakMarket is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from deals between users.

Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant we'll let you know on the site.
